They did, they gave them a meaningless grind fest over a lame line under their char name that a few notice, in a pathetic attempt to keep people playing without any real new content for a long time to come till GW2 comes out.

Titles are retarded when they reward doing the same repetitive action 1000x over. The accomplishment based titles (protector, guardian, vanquisher) are ok with me, the only thing that needs to be done to fix them is axing the PvE skills. Especially linking bonuses to titles was a complete failure, everyone knows that people who HFF for a month straight are better players and deserve better skills. I still can't understand why they didn't link PvE titles to protector/guardian, that would at least be bearable.

only fun thing in PvE I have done that was "fun" was getting FoW for my monk, and clearing FoW with Wammos and an SH ele tanking xD

It may be the lack of fresh content or just lack of the "WOW!" feeling about something in PvE to make you want to work hard for it. Everything de-valued, and the KoaBD title track is all that is significant in the game right now - which also de-values PvP and kills the fun out of the game.

It may just be me... but doing things "for fun" feels very very pointless, when title achievements have gotten so overrated and significant for the next game and became the only reason to keep people playing.

The whole vast world of gw has shrunk to the few areas people grind out 60% of the titles. The only reason to do anything in the game is for the titles, it's like "Why should i waste an hour of my time on this when it won't be marked anywhere and i'll get a lousy green i'll npc at the end."

Title-this, title-that, isn't this getting out of hand?

Your opinions?
got the same problem as you

Did you know there was a study that found that people who used the word gay for everything are actually closeted homosexuals?

I've been noticing this recently too, hopefully persistent areas in GW2 will make everything better, and that companions don't ruin the game (everyone having a bodyguard would just be kind of dumb).

ANet is probably using this to pass our time before GW2 comes out. It was mentioned somewhere that GW2 will have less grind. Hopefully its true.

I haven't had alot of "fun", in guild wars for a while, most of the time, I have to use H/H instead of players since no one else wants to pug, and I can't join an EotN group w/o Ursan. The economy was pretty much ruined when Zaishen Title Track came out. It feels like I'm actually moving away from the actual fun of the game and all of its peoples, and clogged wit hall sorts of titles to do.

Even PvP is getting boring, with all of the skill balances, for people like me who don't have all skills unlocked, everytime a balance screws up my build, I have to grind for faction to get them, and by the time i'm done, another balance.

I hope GW2 comes out soon. GW has been getting worse and worse since EotN and Nightfall. GW has become "Be the best you can be by doing tedious things over and over again"

Also lets not forget when Shadow Form was buffed. GW became "who can get the most ectos first"

The GW:2 Community will be primarily players that thought Ursan's Blessing was a neat idea.

Good luck to them.

Your intended sarcasm falls well short of its mark.

As far as Anet is concerned (and regardless of what they say otherwise), yes, customer feedback CAN gtfo. Regina herself said the game was near the end of its lifecycle. They are working on GW2. They could care very little about GW1. We'll continue to get minor updates, the random new title, and festivals, but this is only for keeping us on the hook so GW2 will release with a significant established playerbase. We will NOT see new vast updates that will "revitalize" the game. It's only as amazing as we make it, which is why I say if you're incapable of finding any pleasure in Guild Wars (and indeed, there's nothing wrong with that), then STOP PLAYING.

There ARE other games. Or hell, you could even go "outside". I hear the graphics are incredible.

Who said the game wasn't dying? That is common knowledge.

Oh yeah, once you find a game that is just like this game minus the junk implimented, you have decent reasoning.

PS: I play games to escape from reality from time to time and do something else. I play games because I find them fun aswell as activities in real life. Whether or not Anet care or not, why stop trying? Look at Shadow Form. People thought that wasn't going to get nerfed. They were proven wrong, myself included. Anet walked a step in the right direction and restored some of my faith in them, so why not look further?

You're saying that the only type of games that anyone should ever play are the ones exactly like Guild Wars? That nobody who plays Guild Wars should dare look for a different type of game? What? Is there some law against this that I'm not aware of? Should I uninstall Hitman and BF:2142? Am I not allowed to play those since they're not "just like" GW?

I could care less why you play games. You're still willing to shuck it out and play Guild Wars; that's fine. So am I. You and I still find it fun. However, this thread isn't about me or you (although looking around the forums you seem to have a fetish for turning everything into a discussion about yourself). It's about the people who are getting bored with this game. They're not constrained by any force to keep playing despite ennui, and if they leave they won't feel their money was wasted, since we don't pay monthly fees.

I said that if someone finds this game boring and not worth their time, they should stop playing. There's not an argument in the world you can make against that.

I played the game for 8 months , I'm getting bored since the remaining things I can do are 99% title grind related. It was fun while it lasted , I never expected of them to make a game that will be challenging and fun forever , even the 8 months is a personal record for me, I never played any other game that long.

You completely took Tyla's post out of context. Tyla just said that if you took Guild Wars, minus all the stupid stuff implemented to "increase its lifespan", you'd have a good game.

On an unrelated note: Probably, since Hitman is terrible on PC compared to console, and BF:2142 installs spyware on your system and is really bad in comparison to BF2.

Well your join date is Dec 2006 like mine is so im guessing you have been playing for a few years. Guildwars IS dried out for older players because there is only so much content ANET will provide and we have done it all. ANET is working on GW2 so say goodbye to any more content in GW1. That said either get into some PvP or have a chat with new players to the game and help out (I like to do this one when im really bored ). I did the title thing at 25 R5 KoabD and now I have to drink myself silly, eat sweets till I puke and Blow myself of with fireworks for the remaining titles. Games are supposed to be fun so if you are not having fun move on to some other games until GW2 comes out. If I could find a Free to Play MMO that is as good as GW I would be playing it already. Ill be damned if I will pay 50 bux for a Game and then have to pay 15 bux a month to play it! Subscription based games are the biggest rip off of the 21st century.

I have had my account for less than 1 year. (11 months to be exact. Waiting for my first birthday present!)

I have only completed Prophecies, Nightfall and Eye of the North so far. I still have to complete Factions. In Prophecies I still have to finish the last two Titan quests as well as Sorrow's Furnace. I have only Vanquished a couple zones and a couple missions in Hard mode. I have all of that to look forward to.

In Nightfall I still have all of the Domain of Anquish and a couple side quests. (Mostly that one where I have to defend the forgotten.) I haven't done any vanquishing here yet.

In Eye of the North I still haven't finished Slaver's Exile. Have only done one dungeon in hard mode and vanquished one zone.

By my calculations I have a lot of fun left. I have nearly all 3 campaigns and the expansion in hard mode left to do. I have nearly the entire landmass of all campaigns left to vanquish, I have many places I haven't even been yet like to Mallyx and Fissure of Woe and all the rest. I still have an entire campaign left to play. Contrary to apparent popular attitude, I find the titles to be fun goals to work towards as well. My current focus has been to max out my Reputation in Lightbringer, Sunspear, Norn, Asuran, and Deldrimor. Mostly because I want the hero skill points to help me unlock the rest of the skills.

I expect that I could find something to do for at least another year.

For ~$50 if total costs, that's an amazing amount of return for my investment. I spent more than that for Master of Orion III and I played that for about a week.

I commented once that Tyla is one of the people who wishes that nothing was ever released for GW after Prophecies. I think my specific post got deleted, but it made some very good points.

The game is supposed to evolve. Everything evolves. The game is what it is now. If it's no longer fun to you, that's fine. It doesn't need to be. If you still find it fun, good for you. Let's just stop all the bullshit "OMG GW IS DEAD" crap that has been happening since Factions.

And Hitman runs pretty decent on my machine, I'm even controlling it with a wireless Xbox360 controller.

And BF:2142 hasn't loaded any spyware on my system. I'm very careful about what's allowed on my box.
